In a magical, spacious and quiet place in the forest, with beautiful views over the meadows and setting sun, stands the all-season romantic Yurt. Did you know that the origin of this form of dwelling lies with the nomadic inhabitants of Mongolia? Due to the round space with beautiful skylight, thick wool insulation layer, insulated floor and wood stove, a Yurt is a warm and fantastic experience, anywhere in the world. The Yurt is equipped with many comforts (including electricity, electric stove, wood stove, refrigerator, double bed and a bunk bed, bench, coffee maker, kettle, outdoor kitchen and fire pit) and can accommodate up to 4 people (without pets). An ideal place to relax and recharge yourself.
Nature and surroundings
Papenvoort is located in the least populated part of the Netherlands. An incredibly beautiful, wooded area, with many swimming lakes, such as the Nije Hemelriek 4.5 kilometers away near Gasselte. National Park Drentsche Aa is also nearby, as is the capital of the province of Drenthe, Assen. The area consists of coniferous and deciduous forests, fens, meadows, beautiful villages, streams, burial mounds, shifting sands, impressive beech avenues, heaths and fields and is ideally suited for nature lovers who love peace and quiet. There is an extensive network of cycling, equestrian and hiking trails. We are also an ideal base for exploring the rest of Drenthe. On Mariahoeve Estate itself is also plenty to do. You can sail a boat on Lake Pingo, order delicious food, light a fire and use the sauna with a beautiful view of the lake (not included in the price).

Eigenlijk alles was aanwezig. Heerlijk om zowel binnen als buiten vuur te kunnen maken en er bescheiden op te kunnen koken. De eigen buiten campingwc was heel fijn. Voldoende opbergplekjes voor eigen spullen (top!). Opgemaakte bedden, handdoeken en een hangmat maakte het feest compleet. Verbeterpuntjes voor een 10: Pannen voor 4p wel aan de kleine kant (stamppot, nasi of 4 stukjes 'vlees' bakken gaat niet in 1 pan). Er waren geen muggenpreventie maatregelen zoals een klamboe of een plakje onder het raam. Er is op je plek geen stromend water of afvoer.
Deze yurt staat op het terrein van een natuurcamping. Het bos waar je dagelijks doorheen loopt is adembenemend mooi. Veel vogels, uilen en eekhoorns gezien of gehoord. Enige puntje aftrek is het geluid van de 80km weg nabij.
