Nature house in Blankenheim Waldorf

A beautiful cottage, fully equipped with all the amenities. The surroundings are very scenic and perfect for hiking, biking, and taking a drive. From the cottage, we went on an outing in the area every day. We drove to and along the Moselle, visited the open-air museum, explored nearby villages, and discovered the Eifel and the Volcanic Eifel. We went to a bird and wolf park and visited a castle.
We were able to do all our grocery shopping in the villages around us.
From the window, we saw horses, birds, roe deer, foxes, and even a few cats. In the evenings, we enjoyed the beautiful starry sky. This was especially true during the solar eclipse, after which we were treated to a whole bunch of shooting stars.
It’s so nice to know that there’s still so much beautiful nature out there and that true silence really does exist.

Now that the two weeks are over, it’s taking some getting used to…

Prachtig huisje en van alle gemakken voorzien. De omgeving is erg mooi en nodigt uit tot wandelen, fietsen en een autotocht maken. Vanuit het huisje hebben wij elke dag iets in de omgeving ondernomen. We zijn naar en langs de Moezel gereden, naar het openluchtmuseum geweest, we hebben dorpjes dichtbij bezocht, de Eifel en de Vulkaan-Eifel mogen ontdekken. We zijn naar een vogel en wolvenpark geweest en hebben een kasteel bezocht.
We hebben prima boodschappen kunnen doen in de dorpjes om ons heen.
Vanuit het raam hebben we paarden, vogels, reeën, vossen en ook een paar poezen gezien. In de avonden hebben we kunnen genieten van de prachtige sterrenhemel. In het bijzonder ook tijdens de zonsverduistering waarna we nog getrakteerd werden op een heleboel vallende sterren.
Wat is het fijn om te weten dat er nog zoveel prachtige natuur te vinden is en dat de stilte echt bestaat.

Nu de twee weken om zijn, is het best even wennen..

We were able to stay in this beautiful cottage for two weeks this summer. It was warm during our stay—and sometimes even warmer. Thanks to the awnings, the air conditioning, and keeping two upstairs windows open, we had a wonderful time here. The cottage is fully equipped with all the amenities. Upon arrival, we found that the cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed was already made. The refrigerator was on, and there were more than enough towels.
Our attention was constantly drawn to one of the two large windows from which we could admire the surroundings.
We particularly enjoyed the horses all around us, the tranquility of the village, and the beautiful fields. We loved Germany; it’s a beautiful country.
From the cottage, we went out every day, setting out early and returning around three o’clock to enjoy the peace and the view.
It was wonderful to be able to take an evening walk and then return to (for a little while) our cottage. We felt truly blessed; it felt safe and familiar.

We hebben deze zomer twee weken mogen wonen in dit prachtige huisje. In deze periode was het warm en soms nog warmer. Dankzij de zonnewering, de airco en het openzetten van twee bovenramen hebben we hier een heerlijke tijd gehad. Het huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien, Bij aankomst bleek dat het huisje keurig schoon was en het bed al opgemaakt. De koelkast stond aan en er waren ruim voldoende handdoeken.
Onze aandacht ging iedere keer naar een van de twee grote ramen van waaruit we de omgeving
Wij hebben met name erg genoten van de paarden om ons heen, de rust in het dorpje en de prachtige velden. we hebben genoten van het land Duitsland, het is prachtig.
Vanuit het huisje hebben we elke dag iets ondernomen, vroeg op pad en rond drie uur weer terug om te kunnen genieten van de rust en het uitzicht.
Het was heerlijk om in de avond nog een wandeling te kunnen maken en dan toch weer terug te gaan naar (voor even) ons huisje. Echt een groot geluk, het voelde veilig en vertrouwd.

Great amenities, including an oven and everything else you could need.
The sauna is an absolute highlight.
We really loved seeing birds, horses, hares, foxes, and even a deer.

Super Ausstattung mit Backofen und allem was man sonst braucht.
Sauna ist ein absolutes Highlight.
Aussicht auf Vögel, Pferde, Hasen, Fuchs oder auch ein Reh fanden wir super schön.

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. We saw more animals than people.

Wir haben die Ruhe sehr genossen. Mehr Tiere als Menschen gesehen.

I felt very comfortable in the cottage and everything I needed was there. I particularly liked the large windows and the bench. The wooden paneling and the uninterrupted view of the surroundings gave me the feeling of being outside, even though I was inside the cottage. As there are insect nets on almost all the windows, I could leave the sliding door open all day, listen to the birds and feel the fresh air.

Ich habe mich in dem Häuschen sehr wohlgefühlt und es war alles da was ich gebraucht habe. Besonders gut haben mir die großen Fenster und die Sitzbank gefallen. Durch die Holzverkleidung und den ungestörten Blick auf die Umgebung hatte ich das Gefühl draußen zu sein, obwohl ich im Häuschen war. Da es an fast allen Fenstern Insektennetze gibt, konnte ich den ganzen Tag die Schiebetür auflassen, den Vögeln zuhören und die frische Luft spüren.

The cottage is on the edge of a village and you only hear birdsong and no noise. The view through the large windows of the rolling hills is very beautiful and there are no houses or roads in sight. You can also see the stars in the evening.

Das Häuschen liegt am Rand eines Dorfes und man hört nur Vogelgezwitscher und keinen Lärm. Die Aussicht durch die großen Fenster auf die sanften Hügel ist sehr schön und man hat keine Häuser oder Straßen im Blickfeld. Abends kann man auch Sterne sehen.
