This forest retreat offers a simple stay in nature—a log house built from natural materials, with a small wood stove. We welcome guests, offering them a chance to take a break from busy daily life. Here, you have the opportunity to reconnect with yourself through Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) and meditation. Whenever you need a break for self-reflection, we provide a simple and safe space where you can lighten your mind and body. Our place offers back-to-basics, camping-style accommodation. The toilet is a dry compost toilet, located in the forest, about 15m from the log house. Hot shower is available next to the main house. There is no kitchen with running water in the cottage, but there is a tap and a space to prepare simple meals close to the main house. The weak signal makes this perfect for a digital detox. We are a Dutch-Japanese family with a sustainable lifestyle. We open our hearts and home to our guests, offering them a peaceful and relaxing stay in our beautiful space!
Nature and surroundings
Our space is about 1 hectare of woodlands, far from the main roads, about 3 km from the village of Koningsbosch, walking distance to the Haeselaar nature reserve with its rich bird life. This is where The Netherlands is at it's most narrow, 300 m from Germany and 10 km from Belgium. Day trips can easily be made to the Meinweg National Park and to the historical cities of Maastricht and Aachen.There are many possibilities for cycling and walking in this area. The quietness of the place and an internet connection make it especially suitable for students, writers, artists to do creative work or study.

Good sturdy cottage. Cozy. Many utensils available.
Goed stevig huisje. Knus. Veel gebruiksvoorwerpen aanwezig.
For us BACK TO BASIC. It was a cold weekend, took some getting used to. The landlord were two nice people, hospitable. The cottage was well maintained, well clean. It was lovely and quiet. Just out in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful forests and yes if you go hiking early you definitely see deer / deer. In short, a place to go back again. Perhaps in spring.
