On the road from Ossenzijl to Kalenberg you will find along the canal our 1930s Bridgekeeper's House. The bridge has been moved, but the cozy house stands prominently on one of the most beautiful spots in the Weerribben. In the front room you'll find the TV and a handy pellet stove (great as extra heating with the underfloor heating). At the back of the house is a spacious kitchen, equipped with induction hob, a simple combination oven and dishwasher. In the downstairs hall you will find the first bathroom with shower and toilet. An open staircase takes you from the kitchen diner to the two bedrooms upstairs with the second bathroom. Behind next to the house is the garage with enough space for your bikes. At the back of the garage you can go to the simple guest house with its own bathroom. Use of two bikes and two kayaks included. The house has a charging station for your car type 2 3.6 KW or type 1 2.2 KW.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located on the Hoogeweg at the edge of the Weerribben. In the reed fields behind the house in winter the reed cutter is at work. When the reeds are removed the curlews, snipes, storks and deer take over the fields again. In front of the house, young cattle graze in the pasture and you can see the meadow birds. The nature trail of about three kilometers runs alongside the house.
