A beautiful and charmingly built, cozy cottage with plenty of windows, so that even when you’re sitting inside by the wood stove, you can still enjoy the natural surroundings outside. The cottage is built with oak from the local area and clay from the nearby Maas River. The structure features mortise-and-tenon joints, and the walls are filled with clay and straw, which together create a truly unique and natural feel. From the comfortable double bed upstairs, you’ll have an incredible view of the countryside. You might even spot a deer! There is no running water in the cottage itself; the toilet, bathroom facilities, and the kitchen with shared living room are located in another building nearby. The bed is made for you, and towels for showering are provided. If possible, please try to bring biodegradable soap for showering. We’d really appreciate it if you could let us know in advance what time you expect to arrive!
Nature and surroundings
Our property is surrounded by nature. We’re located near both the Niers and the Maas rivers. The Maasduinen National Park is 3 kilometers to the south, but in a way, the Maasduinen are right here with us. The Pieterpad runs just a few hundred meters away, and this is therefore an ideal spot if you’re hiking that trail. Gennep is a charming little town with the world-famous storks from “Beleef de Lente” on the town hall. It’s 3 kilometers away—you can rent a bike (or tandem). You can also reach the lively city of Nijmegen in under an hour by bike or half an hour by car. But you can also go on an adventure right here in the area; it’s located near the Heijense Bos and the Looierheide, where you can enjoy walking, running, biking, or mountain biking. Unfortunately, swimming in the water next to us isn’t allowed. The water is reserved exclusively for the campground’s guests. Fortunately, the Maas and the Niers are nearby and open to everyone :)

I really enjoyed a writing and reading week in the middle of nature! Wonderful to let your mind wander on the paper in peace and then let it wander in the surrounding forest and all the beautiful viewing corners on the estate! Not to mention a very cozy wood stove that actually makes you want to come back in the winter!
