The luxurious, black-pot decked cottage is tastefully decorated and rural, a place to enjoy and unwind. It is situated in a unique location next to the Vrouwgeestmolen, where from the living room on one side you have a view of the mill and on the other side you can look straight into the beautiful Vrouwgeestpolder, where in summer the cows and sheep walk outside. The cottage is surrounded by generous terraces. The Cottage is geared for 4 people. The cottage and the adjacent house are built in old style, in harmony with the mill and the polder landscape. The design was inspired by the old cowshed and a barn that used to stand on the same site. Various authentic materials were used in the construction, such as the roof tiles of the former cowshed, old pine beams and old masonry bricks. The cottage is equipped with all modern conveniences. Such as floor heating, a luxury bathroom with walk-in shower. There is also a complete kitchen
Nature and surroundings
The mill and the adjacent cottage are beautifully situated in the middle of the Green Heart of South Holland on the outskirts of Alphen aan den Rijn, near the village of Woubrugge. The Vrouwgeestpolder is a beautiful wide green polder, rich in meadow and water birds. In spring and summer the polder is home to many cows and sheep. Very central, half an hour from the major cities of Amsterdam, The Hague, Scheveningen, Rotterdam and Utrecht. And close to Woubrugge, Hoogmade and Leiden.The mill is located on the Heimans Wetering, a connecting canal between the Oude Rijn and the beautiful lakes Braassem and Wijde Aa. On the other side of the Heimans Wetering is a residential area and a small marina. You can explore this beautiful green area while walking or cycling. There are many opportunities for water sports. In the immediate vicinity there are boats for rent and we have some canoes of our own that you can use. Recently there is also a canoe embarkation and disembarkation area.
