From the Villa, you can walk straight into the Parkbos, which lies on the border of Ghent, De Pinte, and Sint-Martens-Latem. Or would you prefer to head to Ghent’s bustling city center or take a trip to Bruges, Brussels, or Antwerp? Everything is close by! Variety is the name of the game in the Parkbos: in addition to the forest, you’ll also find nature play areas, pollarded trees, expansive grasslands, and stately castles with imposing entrance avenues. A blend of rich history and new nature development. There are numerous hiking trails, with or without a guide. The same goes for horseback riding or bike tours. The Speelrijk play forest spans no less than 16 hectares and features several play canals. Logs and suspension bridges over the water make for an exciting crossing. The play forest also features willow huts and tunnels. There’s plenty of space to build camps. For the youngest children, there’s a designated play area with sand and smaller willow huts. A walking trail winds through the play forest. You can relax on the (picnic) benches in the open areas.
