No bedding is provided; you’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags (and pillows, if needed). Nature and surroundings
The cabin is located in a nature reserve in the Oostwaard, a polder with fields, creeks, and beautiful views. It’s known for the Oostwaardpad, a 21-kilometer hiking trail that includes a ferry across the Bakkerskil River. There’s a good chance you’ll spot roe deer. The nearby Biesbosch National Park is a water-rich and unique area where you can enjoy wonderful wanderings through its many osier beds and willow forests. Who knows—you might even spot a kingfisher, a white-tailed eagle, or an osprey. The beautiful Biesbosch MuseumEiland tells the fascinating history of this water-rich area and the important role the Biesbosch plays for flora, fauna, and (drinking) water management. In the Land of Heusden and Altena, you can bike or hike along centuries-old, idyllic dikes, past the Merwede River or the dammed-off Meuse River, interspersed with farmland. There you’ll find Dussen Castle, old forts of the Dutch Water Line, and the charming fortified town of Woudrichem.

There were so many nettles growing that there was little space free around the cottage, even the path grew almost dense.
The beautiful cottage is well hidden in a grove on the edge of the Biesbosch. Tip: we came from the jetty of the bicycle ferry from low Zwaluwe right through the Biesbosch. The last hour it rained so fortunately we could quickly warm up by the stove. You have a beautiful view of nature through the large windows and there is a walking path in the woods where we even saw a few deer. There is enough present to prepare a simple meal and a good mattress. The check-out time of 12 noon allows you time to enjoy nature even in the morning. If you don't mind not being able to shower, it's an overnight stay you won't soon forget.
