Tip: Take enough groceries with you as there are almost no stores along the waterfront. From Waspik, you sail with the Blokhutboot towards the river Maas to sail to De Biesbosch in 1.5 hours. National Park De Biesbosch is the largest freshwater tidal area in Europe, with tidal forests, creeks and wetlands. With the log cabin boat you can moor wherever you want in De Biesbosch using the spud poles, a very user-friendly mooring system. Go exploring in the small creeks with the available canoe or SUP. Nature has never been so close! Animals regularly spotted here are beavers, deer, pine marten, hares, spoonbills, ospreys, kingfishers, deer and foxes. At the Biesbosch Museum Island you will learn all about this special area. If you want to eat out or grab a terrace, you will find nice options on the edges of the nature reserve in, for example, Geertruidenberg, Hank or Lage Zwaluwe or take a trip to Old fortified town in Heusden.
