Nature house in Doldersum

Welcome to the Dennenheuvel nature house. This house is located in a forest bordering the Drents-Friese Wold National Park and the Doldersummerveld. Built in the 1960s, the bungalow was renovated in 2021 and expanded into a contemporary vacation home. From the hallway (with a restroom and utility room), you enter the living room, which features an open kitchen equipped with modern appliances. In the living area, which is heated by central heating, you have views of the wooded garden from various angles. Outside, you can relax on the deck or find a spot in the garden. For children, there are two swings, soccer goals, and a jungle gym on the village green in Doldersum, just 250 meters away. You might even spot a squirrel! The master bedroom has a double bed. The other bedrooms each have two single beds. It is possible to convert one of the two beds in one of the bedrooms into a double bed. Kitchen linens are provided; please bring your own bed linens and bath towels.

Drents-Friese Wold National Park is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands, offering wonderful opportunities for hiking and biking. You can access the extensive hiking and biking network right from the cottage. Hike to the observation tower on the Doldersummerveld and through the Boschoord forest. Cycling: to Vledder, the Onderduikershol near Diever, Dwingeloo, and Aekeningerzand. Mountain biking is available on the new trail in Boschoord or the MTB route in Appelscha. Swimming options include the pool in Vledder and the Canadameer. You can dine out in the village, and for fresh dairy products, visit the local farm. More shops, restaurants, and museums are within cycling distance in Vledder and Diever (7 km). A visit to the De Proefkolonie museum in Frederiksoord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must. Or visit the organic market in Frederiksoord on Saturdays. Bike rentals are available in Vledder with a pick-up and drop-off service. There is a playground for children in the village.
