The nature house is located 6 km from the lovely town of Tomar, between Lisbon and Coimbra. It is rural but not isolated and you can walk straight into the forest. The cottage is located in a vast botanical garden with cacti, palms, a lovely pool, a hammock, some fruit trees and a small olive grove. Inside there is a cozy living room with a Mediterranean open kitchen, air conditioning and a cozy wood stove. Tomar is a beautiful historic town, full of nice cafes and eateries. Own transportation is actually a must.

If you love the silence of the countryside: the buzzing of the bees, twittering birds, the wind through the trees, and the occasional barking dog, then this is the place for you. From the quinta you walk straight into the forest, where there are well-trodden paths and beautiful views of the countryside, the neighboring villages and Tomar. A few km away is the vast reservoir Castelo de Bode, with small beaches where you can swim and cool off in the summer. And furthermore Tomar is a very interesting historic town with a beautiful castle (Templars), cozy narrow streets and a multitude of nice terraces. Both Lisbon and Coimbra are an hour's drive away; so perfect for a day trip.
