Ecolodge located in the vast nature of Rebecq. This apartment is located in an old railroad building on the 1st floor. An outside staircase leads to the terrace. It includes a living area with kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom. The couch can be converted into a sofa bed. Sheets and towels can be provided on request. From the terrace you can also access the bedroom which is located in a separate tower. From the tower you overlook the treetops and vistas. The house is heated with wood stoves. There is only city water in the kitchen, the other utilities are rainwater. We have our own dog, 2 chickens and 2 goats. The garden is not fenced. We no longer allow additional dogs that are a danger to our own animals. We live in a cul-de-sac, unfortunately the last part is not well maintained. Opp living space: 50m2 - Opp terrace: 24m2.

Nature and surroundings

Rebecq is a rural village in Walloon Brabant. We are at the end of the street. Right next to the depot of a tourist steam train. " Le petit train du bonheur" runs from April to the end of September on Sundays and holidays. The environment is very peaceful and secluded. There is no public transportation nearby. The old railroad lines that pass next to our house serve as a fixed starting route to explore the area. Nature there is still very unspoiled. Walks along " la vallée des oiseaux " or "le verger du paradis" appeal to the imagination. The hyacinth walk of the Hallerbos, a visit to the inclined plane of Ronquières or Pairi Daiza are frequently visited day trips. Guided walks with French-speaking nature guide possible on request.

Quiet place, in the middle of nature.

We had a great extended weekend in this beautiful cottage. The view of the surrounding forests and fields is beautiful! And the owners (and pets :) ) made us feel very welcome.

We had a great time, including our toddler who was not yet two years old. We were warmly welcomed by the landlords. The dog of the house is a sweetheart and the chickens, cat and goats also provide life in the brewery. With the wood stoves, the well-insulated cottage is quickly warm. If you don't mind firing up the stove regularly we don't foresee any problems in winter either. The bathroom with toilet, sink and shower is fine, as is the kitchen. The road to the cottage was repaired during our stay and will therefore be more passable in the future. If you really want to get away from it all for a few days, we highly recommend this cottage. There is plenty to do in the area, even if you do not just want to walk and cycle. We ourselves have visited Pari Daiza zoo, the impressive ship elevator of Strépy-Thieu and some parks and forests in the area.

The cottage is part of an old station along a narrow-gauge railway line that is run only on Sundays. It is located on a cul-de-sac and far from other houses. In the middle of the treetops you always have birds to watch and many beautiful views. You can also walk and bike right from the cottage. During our stay we heard the pheasants regularly. Once on the road you will encounter them frequently. We also saw many rabbits, hares and pigeons around the cottage. A single squirrel sometimes visited the yard. A pair of kestrels nested in a tree that we had a good view of and regularly tussled with intrusive magpies. At night we heard an occasional owl. In short, lots to see and hear for anyone who loves animals.

Heerlijk rustig vanuit het huisje kan je heerlijke wandelingen maken.
In de avond vliegen de uilen en vleermuizen om het huis. Genieten!

What does “contactless stay” mean?
You can stay here without personal contact with the host, for example via a key safe or digital access. A contactless stay does not always have to be mandatory.
What does “Fireworks-free” mean?
The host indicates that the area is firework-free. Firework-free means that no firework bangs can be heard in and around the accommodation. You might occasionally hear some noise or see some light from fireworks set off outside the immediate area. It is important that you agree with the landlord on what you can expect.
