We expected more from it....

We hadden er meer van verwacht..

Little comfort.Sober,no curtains,bad sofa,not clean.Poor value for money

The cottage had little atmosphere, there was not really a personal touch. I especially missed curtains, it was bare and dark... The old sofa has a seat height of 25 cm I think, so for a pensionado it is very difficult to stand up; and the TV was too high... I missed a good reading lamp both upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs there is a small bedside lamp but the cord is too short so you can't put the lamp near your bed...! Small things but at this you feel that the landlord has not really thought about the needs of a vacationer. On the dresser there was only a German description with some instructions about the house. Many language errors in it and inaccuracies. The wifi name was not correct (not anymore?) and the TV is in the living room so not in the Schlafzimmer... Also, according to the description I have to leave a key in a left drawer, while the welcome email says that the key is in a right drawer...;) Carelessness that does not seem very hospitable....

Het huisje had weinig sfeer, er zat niet echt een personal touch in. Ik miste vooral gordijnen, t was wat kaal en donker… De oude bank heeft een zithoogte van 25 cm denk ik dus voor een pensionado erg moeilijk om van op te staan; en de tv hing dan eigenlijk weer te hoog… ik miste zowel boven als beneden een beetje goede leeslamp. Boven staat wel een klein bedlampje maar het snoer is te kort zodat je de lamp niet bij je bed kan zetten…! Kleine dingen maar hieraan voel je dat de verhuurder niet echt heeft nagedacht over de behoeftes van een vakantieganger. Er lag op het dressoir alleen een duitse beschrijving met wat aanwijzingen over t huisje. Veel taalfouten erin en onjuistheden. De wifinaam klopte niet (niet meer?) en de tv staat in de woonkamer dus niet in de Schlafzimmer… Ook moet ik volgens de beschrijving een sleutel in een linkerlade achterlaten, terwijl in de welkomstmail wordt gezegd dat de sleutel in een rechterlade ligt…;) Onzorgvuldigheden die niet heel gastvrij overkomen..

The cottage is a short distance from the sea and within walking distance of the dunes, so that is all very nice. The cottage itself is behind a larger house which is on the road. I found the garden that belonged to the Lodge not very inspiring, very messy and unsociable...not maintained. In the welcome e-mail, the landlord warns about slippery decking when it rains, but it would have been better if he had laid the decking straight and level anyway, because it is easy to trip over the raised edges of the non-level parts, and slipping is easy anyway. Stick a few rough strips on it and you can delete that warning sentence from your welcome mail.... Furthermore, from the main road the house number is not clearly marked, so upon my arrival I accidentally drove into a yard next to it. Got wind of it from someone there, so I guess I wasn't the first to drive the wrong way. ;)

Het huisje ligt op korte afstand van de zee en op loopafstand van de duinen, dus dat is allemaal heel fijn.
Het huisje zelf staat achter een groter woonhuis welke aan de weg ligt. Ik vond de tuin die bij de Lodge hoorde niet geweldig inspirerend, erg rommelig en ongezellig…niet onderhouden. In de welkomstmail waarschuwt de verhuurder voor gladde vlonders bij regen, maar het ware beter geweest als hij die vlonders dan sowieso recht en waterpas zou leggen, want je struikelt vrij makkelijk over opstaande randjes van de niet vlak liggende delen, en wegglijden is dan sowieso snel gebeurd. Een paar ruwe strips erop plakken en je kan die waarschuwende zin uit je welkomst mail schrappen... Verder is vanaf de doorgaande weg niet duidelijk het huisnummer aangegeven, dus bij mijn aankomst reed ik per ongeluk een erf ernaast op. Kreeg aldaar de wind van voren van iemand, dus ik denk dat ik niet de eerste was die verkeerd reed. ;)

Cottage is very nice. unfortunately the sofa sagged, but if you sat on it alone was fine. Was still a good armchair present for my 75 year old dad. In the picture you see a senseo machine, unfortunately it was not present. For coffee we went to the beach pavilion Struin. What was super, with delicious struin apple cake. We had a top weekend, storm and lots of rain. We made lovely walks between the showers. Beds were top. kitchen and bathroom were fine. The cottage in the storm was palpable. What we experienced as delicious

Huisje is erg leuk. helaas was de bank doorgezakt, maar als je er alleen op zat ging prima. Was nog een goede fauteuil aanwezig voor mijn 75jarige pa. Op de foto zie je een senseo apparaat, deze was helaas niet aanwezig. Voor de koffie daarom uit geweken naar strandpaviljoen Struin. Wat super was, met heerlijke struinappelgebak. We hadden een top weekend, storm en veel regen. We hebben heerlijke wandelingen gemaakt tussen de buien door. Bedden waren top. keuken en badkamer voldeden prima. Het huisje in de storm was voelbaar. Wat wij als heerlijk hebben ervaren

Cottage is in garden of house which is also rented. In a somewhat neglected garden, which did not bother us.

Huisje staat in tuin van huis wat ook verhuurd word. In een ietwat verwaarloosde tuin, wat ons niet heeft gestoord.
