This nature house is on the outskirts of Maartensdijk, within walking distance of the Gooisch Nature Reserve, and within biking distance of the city of Utrecht. The Loosdrecht lakes are also nearby. The cottage was recently completely rebuilt, with maximum reuse of materials, and this gives the cottage its own unique atmosphere. The private land on which the cottage stands is 1 hectare. You have an unobstructed view of 4 km of meadows, with on the horizon the forest edge of Hollandsche Rading. In our pasture live the Kune kune pigs Puck and Pumba, but there is still plenty of separate fenced space left to graze your possibly brought horse(s). In the cottage you have an open kitchen, a very generous bath with sauna, a living room with wood stove, and 2 bedrooms, one with a bedstead. If necessary, the number of sleeping places can be expanded in the loft.

On the grounds themselves we regularly see badgers, deer, foxes and hares. Birdwatchers can especially enjoy mornings: the nightingale, the copperwing, the stork, the black, the green and the pied woodpecker, the siskin, the pied flycatcher, the greenfinch, the blackhead, the tawny owl, and many other birds can be heard and seen on our property. From the nature house, the forest and moorland - which extends to Hilversum, Amersfoort and De Bilt - is just 300 meters walking distance. You can indulge yourself if you enjoy hiking, cycling, mountain biking, or horseback riding! Would you rather go boating on the Loosdrecht lakes? By car it will take you fifteen minutes to get to the water, by bike it will take half an hour. Or still a day of culture, or shopping in the city? In 15 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bike you are in the historic center of Utrecht.
