On the outskirts of Westdorp is our farm, with the nature house next to it. The nature house was rebuilt from the former boiler house, which used to bake bread and later housed young cattle. Now the cottage is equipped with all conveniences. It has a cozy living area with a fully equipped kitchen (including coffee, tea and basic spices), overlooking the fields. The cottage has a spacious bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with bunk beds. The bathroom has a wonderful (rain) shower, sink and toilet. A private garden offers you all the space you need to enjoy your peace and quiet. To make your stay truly authentic, you can enjoy the products the farm offers, such as fresh eggs from our chickens, milk and yogurt from the goats, and vegetables and fruits from the vegetable garden and orchard. There also live dogs, cats, pigs, geese and two ducks. Feel free to take a look or lend a hand.
Nature and surroundings
West Village has a close-knit community and offers a relaxed lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle. In addition to tranquility, there are plenty of attractions and activities in the area. A five-minute drive away is Borger, the "Hunebed capital," with a variety of amenities and restaurants. The surrounding nature, such as the National Geopark the Hondsrug, attracts hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. Fun trips include the Hunebedcentrum, Wildlands, Ellert and Brammert, Kabouterland, the sheep flock in Exloo, watchtower Poolshoogte and the Boomkroonpad. Activists can swim in the forest lake of Ellertshaar, mountain biking or climbing at Joytime Outdoorpark. A tour with a Carver or Chopper from Eko-Tours is also possible. In bad weather, the tropical swimming pool Hunzerdal in Borger or the stores in Assen, Emmen or Groningen are a good alternative.
