The whole area around Ootmarsum is a blissful area for walking and cycling on discovery in your own country. The accommodation is fully equipped and is cozy and cheerfully decorated for a comfortable stay. The spacious veranda offers shelter from rain and hot summer days, allowing for optimal celebration of outdoor life. In the barn you will find garden chairs for your convenience. The small campsite where the nature house is located is quiet and less suitable for families. In short, a wonderful place for nature lovers and peace seekers. This nature house is located on the edge of a field with hikers' pitches. There is enough privacy, but keep in mind in the summer period with some (cozy) crowds on the site. At the reception of the campsite you can rent bikes and use the terrace or restaurant.

the nature house stands on the Springendal, a nature reserve nicknamed "The garden of the Netherlands. Picturesque seepage ponds, waterfalls and narrow streams in the middle of the forest. Hills, meadows, lakes, hay fields, heath and historic farms complete the picture. Around 1920 Springendal was purchased by the Enschede textile baron Jannink. He gave the already centuries-old agricultural area the appearance of an estate with many English features. The medieval ashes (bulbous fields that grew higher and higher through fertilization), kindly fringed by trees, have been incorporated into the whole. There are also a number of fantastic Twente farmhouses. Springendal has a structure of avenues and of water. Besides the monumental Mosbeeklaan on which a number of side avenues open up, the character of the estate is determined by springs and streams. Bubbling water forms three ponds, which in turn feed the Springendal stream.
