Situated directly on the cliff, the separately accessible 50 m² cabin (room height of 4 meters) looks out over the glazed north-east side onto the nearby cliff and into its own forest. We have placed great emphasis on individuality in the furnishings. You sleep either on ground-level Japanese tatami mats with organic futon and a view of nature or on the 2-metre-high sleeping level on an organic latex mattress. The ecologically insulated building is a timber frame construction and has a modern bathroom and a small, open kitchen with a poured concrete counter and gas stove. A Danish wood-burning stove and Argentinian butterfly chairs create a cozy place where you can enjoy the peace and quiet all year round. The house is connected to our small organic sewage treatment plant and is powered by its own photovoltaic system. Heating is provided by a wood burner with wood from our own forest or by the small, powerful Danish stove in the cabin.
Nature and surroundings
Our property is located on an old quarry and own forest and is connected to Dresden, Prague and Berlin (S-Bahn and train) via a direct forest path to the Elbe ferry and the train stations Krippen and Bad Schandau. If you would like to arrive by train, you can reach the house on foot. A chestnut grove, meadow orchard, bird protection hedges and a small body of water on the rock provide shelter and breeding grounds for many species of birds, frogs, wild bees and various forest animals. It is not uncommon to see deer, rare birds, badgers and horses in the paddock right next to the house. It is worth visiting the Kleinhennersdorfer Stein and its caves or hiking from the house to the Laasensteine and the Kohlbornstein. You can join the extensive network of cycle stations on the Elbe cycle path directly below the house in Krippen. You can reach the national park by ferry or public transport (free of charge with the guest card).
