What do you call a straw and loam cottage built creatively, with "craftsmanship" and great love in a dream spot by the water? We have no words for it! In any case, this is a unique two-person cottage (adults only) where peace and nature are central. If you want to experience and protect (!) that peace with us, then we welcome you! With the Drenthe name "Vleer" we pay tribute to the old elder tree that was partially uprooted during a severe autumn storm. Put back upright, the tree sprouted again in the spring. What resilience! That's what we wish you too. This semi off-grid cottage is very comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. From the couch you have grandiose views of the lake with your own raft. The beds can be made into single or double beds. The kitchenette includes a sink, refrigerator, filter coffee maker and kettle. Plates, glasses, cutlery ... everything is available. Nature and surroundings
In the complete outdoor kitchen you can enjoy cooking, but because of fire safety, no barbecuing. Through the outside you have access to the composting toilet. A private toilet and shower can also be found in the Eek building, 80 meters away. You can also cook there. At the waterfront there are two more cottages ('t Berkje and Esp). The Hendriksveen is 8 hectares. The lake (deep swimming water) was created by sand mining activities in the last century. In addition, a special nature reserve was created, including sundew and king ferns that grow in large numbers in the wet lowlands. You can take a nice walk around the grounds. Be surprised on the 'Kijkpad', enchanted by the views over the fields and inspired by the labyrinth of Drenthe boulders. There are also several places where you can sit in peace. The Hendriksveen is located on the Hondsrug. Directly from house Vleer you can do fantastic walking and cycling through woods and heathland.
