Lovely detached nature house in a former farmhouse. Ideal for nature lovers, hikers, cyclists and mountain bikers as well as those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is wonderfully situated between the rugged High Fens, the lovely Eifel and the Ardennes. Because of its layout, the house is very suitable to stay there alone or in pairs, but we can also open a second bedroom, so you can stay in separate bedrooms or with three or four. The large bright living kitchen gives a nice view of the meadows behind the house, and from the cozy living room you look toward hills and the Ruhr Valley. In the spacious, bright bedroom-with-a-view is a twin bed of 180x210. The large sunny garden has several seating areas. Living, cooking and sleeping are on the 1st floor. You can make beautiful walks directly from the house and the Vennbahn runs through Kalterherberg.

The High Fens are a bog area unique to Western Europe, situated on a plateau of 600-700 meters. It is special in every season, in early spring with fields full of wild daffodils, in summer with many special wild flowers, in autumn because of the beautiful colors along the peat streams and in winter because there is often a lot of snow. It is a good environment for cycling, a paradise for mountain bikers but, because bike paths have been built on former railroad tracks and there are bicycle junctions, also very attractive for the less sporty cyclists. The famous Vennbahn cycle path (Aachen-Troisvierges) runs one kilometer from this nature house, with many kilometers of car-free and very gentle ascending or descending cycling through the special nature of eastern Belgium and the German Eifel.
