Nature house in Schoorl

The surroundings are super! I would immediately go back for that. We were slightly less positive about the cottage itself. In itself nice and nicely decorated but quite dark (window to kitchen taped and 1 small window in the living room) and somewhat cramped for six people. In the living room there were really only 5 relaxing seats. The downstairs bedroom was very cramped, especially for people over 80.

Outside was a turf of artificial grass. In itself fine but it will be bloody hot in summer, as the garden is really between the two houses and the dune and there was no umbrella. The sunbeds, which were on the photo, were not there so there were really only 2 reasonable chairs and the rest had to sit on a dining chair. A lounge sofa, a few extra chairs or the promised sun beds were missed. It's more that if you compare it to what you pay (also the additional costs) you should expect more from the cottage in our experience. The Dune lodges are cozy but complete, we have listed the size as clearly as possible on the website with the number of m2 and a map of the layout of the Dune lodge. This week new sunbeds will be placed, the original sunbeds were recently removed as they did not meet our quality requirements. Each Dune lodge has its own parasol, the parasols are normally placed around May and are also available on request.

De omgeving is super! Daarvoor zou ik meteen teruggaan. Het park ligt echt heel mooi centraal.

Over het huisje zelf waren we iets minder positief. Op zich leuk en leuk ingericht maar vrij donker (raam bij keuken afgeplakt en 1 klein raam in de woonkamer) en wat krap voor zes personen. In de woonkamer waren er eigenlijk maar 5 relaxte zitplaatsen. De slaapkamer beneden was heel krap, zeker voor 80 plussers.

Buiten was een grasmat van kunstgras. Op zich prima maar het zal in de zomer wel bloedheet zijn, de tuin ligt namelijk echt tussen de twee huisjes en het duin in en er was geen parasol. De ligbedden, die wel op de foto stonden, waren er niet dus eigenlijk maar 2 redelijke zitstoelen en de rest moest op een eetstoel zitten. Een loungebankje, een paar extra zitstoelen of de beloofde ligbedden werden gemist.

Het is meer dat als je het afzet tegen wat je betaalt (ook de bijkomende kosten) je dan meer zou mogen verwachten van het huisje in onze beleving.

De Duinlodges zijn knus maar compleet, we hebben de grootte zo duidelijk mogelijk op de website vermeld met het aantal m2 en een plattegrond van de indeling van de Duinlodge.

Deze week worden er nieuwe ligbedden geplaatst, de originele ligbedden zijn kortgeleden verwijderd aangezien deze niet voldeden aan onze kwaliteitseisen.

Elke Duinlodge beschikt over een eigen parasol, de parasols worden normaliter rond mei geplaatst en zijn ook op aanvraag beschikbaar.

The cottage is on a dune, near the Forestry Commission visitor center, from where you can make very nice hiking and biking trips. In the other direction you could walk to the village with the Klimduin, restaurants and stores.

Nearby is also a very nice mountain bike trail, really super!

Het huisje ligt aan een duin, vlakbij het bezoekerscentrum van Staatsbosbeheer, vanuit waar je hele mooie wandel en fietstochten kunt maken. De andere kant op liep je zo naar het dorp met het Klimduin, restaurants en winkels.

Vlakbij is ook een erg mooi mountainbike parcours, echt super!
