Let yourself be lulled by the sounds of nature in this unique accommodation, the wigwam at La Cense d'Hortésie.The wigwam is the traditional tent of the Amerindians of the northern United States and Canada. It is shaped like a half-sphere, rather than a cone like a teepee, and is made of heavy canvas laid on wooden hoops. The wigwam you'll be staying in is 7 meters in diameter and 3.50 meters under the canopy, for a total surface area of around 40 square meters. It's set in a flower-filled meadow that you're sure to love. The accommodation has a 160cm bed that can be split into two 80cm beds. It also has an old-fashioned toilet (basin and jug), a wood-burning stove to keep warm outside the summer season, old-fashioned crockery, a Bluetooth speaker and everything you need to make tea or coffee, as well as dry toilets and a drinking water point a little further on.
Nature and surroundings
The Cense d'Hortésie wigwam is set in the heart of a flower meadow and orchard, within a permaculture-grown ecosystem, shaded by a few trees that provide a restful atmosphere.The wigwam has been built on a raised wooden floor. It has two doors and 4 windows that allow you to be in direct contact with nature. We've installed a solar shower protected by camouflage netting, so you can take a shower while observing the surrounding nature.to get to the wigwam, you'll pass through the fruit and berry fields, which you'll of course be able to taste in season ...The wigwam is equipped with a wood-burning stove, which you can use to keep warm when the weather cools down ... Blankets and plaids are provided in addition to the wood-burning stove, so you can enjoy a pleasant stay even in autumn, winter and early spring, when the nights are cold.
