Nature house in Gennep

Wake up surrounded by nature in a unique outdoor dwelling: our Ger. It’s located on our beautiful estate, teeming with life: birdsong, chickens and cats roaming about, bleating sheep, children playing, edible plants, and plenty of greenery in our forest, fields, and vegetable garden. In the Ger, you’ll find peace and quiet, whether on the couch by the wood stove or in the comfortable double bed. You’ll also have access to a shared kitchen, shower, and composting toilet. A Ger is so much more than just a tent! It combines a warm interior with authentic outdoor living all in one. In this Mongolian nomadic dwelling, you’ll heat the interior with a wood-burning stove. At the same time, you’ll wake up to the sounds of birds all around you. We’ve decorated our Ger to create a cozy atmosphere for you. It features a comfortable double bed and a narrow single bed. There’s also a seating area, a dining table, and (for extra convenience :-) a kettle. Of course, we provide bedding, and extra blankets if desired. It would be great if you could let us know in advance what time you expect to arrive!

Our property is surrounded by nature. We’re located near the Niers River and, of course, the Meuse. The Maasduinen National Park is 6 kilometers to the south, but in a way, the Maasduinen are right here with us.The Pieterpad trail runs just a few hundred meters away, and this is an ideal spot if you’re hiking it. Gennep is a charming little town with the world-famous storks from “Beleef de Lente” perched on the town hall. It’s 3 kilometers away; you can borrow a bike (or tandem).You can also reach the lively city of Nijmegen within an hour by bike or half an hour by car. Oh, and we’re Workaway/WWOOF hosts, which means volunteers from all over the world come to help us with things like gardening or our construction projects using materials from the forest. You’ll share the other common areas with these volunteers. It’s a good idea to bring biodegradable soap for showering. Unfortunately, swimming in the water next to us isn’t allowed. The water is reserved exclusively for the campground’s own guests.
