In the yard of a former farmhouse, a vacant building was transformed into a functional vacation home in 2021. Through the terrace one enters the cooking and dining area, consisting of a built-in kitchen with accompanying dining table with room for twelve people. Two high chairs for children are available. The ground floor also includes a bathroom with toilet and a sitting room with leather armchairs, smart TV, bluetooth speaker, etc. A staircase gives access to the upper floor.With four upstairs bedrooms, ten quality beds (springbox) and two cribs, the house offers decent sleeping accommodation. A spacious night hall with play facilities and two bathrooms with shower, sink and toilet and provide the necessary comfort. Adjacent to the terrace, equipped with the necessary garden furniture, there is parking for three cars. Bicycles can be stored safely.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located in the south of the Meetjesland, between Ghent (at 15 km) and Eeklo (at 12 km). Located in an agricultural area, overlooking a young orchard and a horse pasture, nature is nearby. Numerous cycling (junctions) and walking routes cross the area and connect to the Lembeek woods, the Leen, the Lieve, the Schipdonk Canal and various linking areas. Here the adventurous cyclist will also find the longest mountain bike route in East Flanders: 101 km of which 54% off-road.From the vacation home, the Dutch border, the East Coast, the Kreken area and the Waasland are easily accessible. Besides nature lover also culture lover? No worries, Ghent offers a wide range of sights, events and stores.
