Welcome to this lovely green spot! Our two B&B rooms are located above a coffeehouse, surrounded by a beautiful outdoor area. Here, you can look forward to a peaceful night’s sleep, a full and freshly prepared breakfast in the coffeehouse (or in the garden), and the option to grab lunch to go. We’re open Wednesday through Sunday for breakfast, lunch, cake, and drinks, so as a guest, you’ll naturally wake up in the morning to the aroma of fresh coffee. There are no cooking facilities at the B&B, but towels, coffee and tea, and a minibar are provided. We even have a fire pit for a cozy evening under the stars! The price listed is for a booking based on 2 people: additional guests pay 30 per night, including breakfast. Children under 2 years old stay for free at our B&B! Breakfast is included.

On and around Forteiland, it’s a wonderful place to relax among the apple and pear trees, the owls and bats, and amidst the countless unique birds! You can walk or run along the water or enjoy the historic monuments at the fort. If you’re not arriving by bike, we have two bikes available for guests to borrow.Our former fort keeper’s house shares the island with a small apiary, a Scout troop, and a luxury restaurant, and is ideally located for hikers, cyclists, or even if you’re traveling by boat! Thanks to our UNESCO status, we’re connected to all kinds of cycling and hiking routes, including the Hollandse Waterlinieroute (the #3 route in the Netherlands). From Utrecht Central Station, it’s just under a 30-minute bike ride along the water to Bij de Fortwachter.

Everything is absolutely excellent. Only concern is that the sleeping divan becomes a challenge for very fussy sleepers but I slept wonderfully. And the double bed is excellent!
