Nature house in Terschelling

Everything was neat and clean, and everything was there.
And we were warmly welcomed.

It was small, but it had everything you needed. The downside for us, as older people, was that it was quite damp—not great for our joints—and you couldn’t park the car right next to it for loading and unloading, so we had to walk quite a distance with all our stuff, including heavy suitcases, and up the stairs to the cottage. You also had to be careful not to bump your head on a low beam or doorframe. So it’s actually less suitable for people taller than 170 cm. I think it’s good to mention that in advance. But for us, staying in that beautiful setting more than made up for it :)

Het was klein, maar alles wat je nodig hebt was er. Het nadeel voor ons, als oudere mensen, was: het was nogal vochtig, niet fijn voor gewrichten, én je kon de auto er niet vlakbij parkeren voor laden/lossen, waardoor we met alle spullen, waaronder zware koffers, een heel stuk moesten lopen, ook de trap naar het huisje op. Verder moest je goed opletten dat je je hoofd niet stootte aan een lage balk en deuropening. Dus eigenlijk minder geschikt voor mensen die langer zijn dan 170 cm. Het lijkt me goed om dat vooraf te vermelden. Maar voor ons maakte het verblijf in die prachtige omgeving dat weet helemaal goed, dat weer wel :)

Only rent the house to people who are not taller than 1.80m. Show pictures of the interior so that people can judge whether the house is big enough for them. Response from landlord: We are very sorry to read that you were not satisfied. We talked about this on the 1st morning and we had another beautiful accommodation for you to solve the problem. Unfortunately, by now you had already booked another accommodation elsewhere on the island and we did not have the chance to accommodate you. Hopefully you were able to continue to enjoy the island and had a nice time. We would love to welcome you another time with us.

Huisje alleen verhuren aan mensen die niet langer zijn dan 1.80. Daarbij foto's laten zien van interieur zodat mensen kunnen beoordelen of huisje groot genoeg voor ze is.

We vinden het erg jammer te lezen dat jullie niet tevreden waren. We hebben elkaar op de 1e ochtend hierover gesproken en wij hadden een andere mooie accommodatie voor jullie gehad om het probleem op te lossen. Helaas hadden jullie inmiddels al elders op het eiland een andere accommodatie gereserveerd en hebben wij de kans niet gehad om jullie tegemoet te komen.
Hopelijk hebben jullie verder van het eiland kunnen genieten en hebben jullie een mooie tijd gehad.
We ontvangen jullie graag een andere keer bij ons.

Cottage was way too small. Two chairs and a table at the bed-end was the "living room". Also too low ceilings and passage which caused me to hit my head every time (I am 1.88). For us reason to book another accommodation. Common room was OK

Huisje was veel te klein. Twee stoelen en een tafeltjes aan het bed-einde was de "woonkamer". Ook te lage plafonds en doorgang waardoor ik telkens mijn hoofd stootte (ik ben 1.88). Voor ons reden om een andere accommodatie te boeken. Gezamenlijke ruimte was wel OK
