Nature house in Soest

Come relax and recharge in the Soesterduinen, part of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park near Soest. This chic boutique cottage was fully renovated in early 2022. A cozy living/kitchen/sleeping area with high beamed ceilings and pleasant, dimmable ambient lighting. The kitchen, featuring a solid oak log-style countertop, is equipped with a combination oven, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, an induction cooktop, a kettle, and a Nespresso machine. Tea towels and dish towels are provided. The same room also features a TV and a double box-spring bed with high-quality bedding. The luxurious bathroom is equipped with underfloor heating, a rain shower and hand shower, and bath towels from Rituals. The cottage is located in the front yard, near but separate from the main house. It has its own driveway for the car, an indoor bike shed with power outlets, and a patio with access to a BBQ. Wi-Fi is available. A travel crib for babies/toddlers is available (free upon request).

Across from the cottage, you can walk straight into the woods, and within 5 minutes you’ll find yourself on one of the Netherlands’ largest sand drifts, surrounded by woods and heathland. There are various (long-distance) hiking, biking, and mountain biking trails in the woods and near the cottage. Spot roe deer, badgers, and foxes. There’s a riding stable nearby with an extensive network of horseback trails. Within walking distance are the Cabrio open-air theater and the Palz estate, home to the Herman van Veen Arts Center. Three great restaurants are just a few minutes’ walk away, including Stazione Pazzo, located in the old Soestduinen train station. Amersfoort Zoo is within biking distance (through the woods). Following the same bike path, you can easily reach the historic fortified town of Amersfoort with its canals and famous walled houses. On less pleasant days, it’s wonderful to relax at Thermen Soesterberg, or visit the Netherlands Military Museum, Groeneveld Castle, or De Hooge Vuursche Castle. Utrecht is 20 km away.
