This charming old front house of our farmhouse, built in 1890, is situated in a beautiful rural location along the Vecht River. It’s 3 km from the center and public transportation in Weesp, a town with a village-like atmosphere. Centrally located between Amsterdam and 't Gooi, it offers plenty of opportunities to explore both nature and the hustle and bustle of the city. The front house accommodates 2 to 4 people. There is a double bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. There is also a cozy, fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and a small freestanding mini-oven. The bathroom features a shower, sink, and toilet. (Since we are now part of the municipality of Amsterdam, the price does not include the 12.5% tourist tax as of January 1, 2025.)

Nature and surroundings

There’s plenty to do in the area, whether you’re looking for nature or urban experiences. Just a stone’s throw from Amsterdam, the front house is a great base for exploring nature on beautiful biking and hiking trails. You can rent bikes, as well as stand-up paddleboards or small boats, for a trip down the Vecht River toward Muiden or Breukelen. And taking a refreshing dip in the Vecht is definitely an option, too. The charming town of Weesp offers plenty of restaurants and delightful shops. A visit to the IJssalon is highly recommended. But for those who prefer to eat at home, Weesp’s local businesses also offer plenty of choice in beautiful artisanal products.

The cottage is spacious and fully equipped. Beautiful location. There were four of us adults. You can only reheat food there; cooking isn't allowed. It also took a very long time for the toilet to flush...And we missed having a patio table… we would have liked to eat outside or play games. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is beautifully situated on the Vecht... though it is on a road.

Echt top!
