Nature house in Castel d'Aiano

Welcome to our nature house! The portion of the house available for rent is part of a stone farmhouse dating back to the 1600s, located at an elevation of 700 meters. The apartment is arranged on two levels: the mezzanine level, which features the living area with a fully equipped kitchen and a large table, and the first floor, which houses the two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, and the other has a bunk bed and a single bed. A sixth bed can be added using the pull-out sofa in the spacious hallway between the two bedrooms. The bathroom is accessible via a small flight of steps from the living area. Access to the apartment is through an entrance shared with the owners. The farmhouse is located on the edge of a centuries-old chestnut grove, wooded areas, and fields where you can enjoy walks, including the CAI 422c Dragodena–Vedettola trail, which passes right in front of the house. Not far away flows the Samoggia stream, which forms a small waterfall reachable via a short walk through the woods. Outside the house, two large wooden tables are available for free use, and the barbecue can be used upon request. A short walk takes you to the Montetortore complex, a historic site featuring the imposing ruins of a 12th-century castle that for centuries served as the true “capital” of the mountains between the Samoggia and Panaro rivers. A strategic location on the border between two states, with a view that stretched across two valleys. Between the 15th and 16th centuries, Montetortore served as the seat of the Podestà’s office.
