A spacious and fully furnished vacation cottage (approx. 60 m² total) for 2–3 people. The cottage is situated on its own on a large lot with plenty of greenery and a beautiful orchard of standard fruit trees. The large orchard offers a lovely spot to relax. Originally, the nature house was a “bakkes” (Limburgish for “baking house”) built in the half-timbered style. After serving as a bakehouse and stable, the building was expanded with an upper floor and converted into a vacation home. The original bakehouse was built in 1850 and expanded into a stable around 1930. The interior features multicolored bricks and is cozily furnished. On the ground floor is the open kitchen with a dining area and a sitting area featuring a sofa and TV. The kitchen is equipped with a combination microwave, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and an induction cooktop. On the first floor (accessible via the stairs) is the spacious bedroom (with 1 double bed and 1 single bed), the bathroom with shower and toilet.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located on the outskirts of the quaint village of Viele (Vijlen) in the hamlet of Melleschet, within a quiet zone. You’ll find complete peace and quiet in and around the nature house. You can also go hiking and biking in the Limburg Hills from here. For example, the cottage is located on the "Route des Vins." This hiking trail (approx. 11 km) takes you right through the beautiful hilly landscape past two impressive wine estates. Melleschet is also home to the Netherlands’ highest nature garden, the Heebrig (1.1 ha). From Melleschet, you can walk or bike to the hamlets of Rott, Camerig, Cottessen, Mamelis, and Harles, or explore the nature reserves (Vijlenerbos and Geuldal). In Vijlen, you’ll find several restaurants and a neighborhood store. The charming villages of Mechelen, Epen, and Gulpen are also just a short distance away. Nearby is Vaals with its famous Three Countries Point, and Aachen (9 km) and Maastricht (25 km) are practically just around the corner. We hope to welcome you soon to our nature house!

I had a wonderful weekend!
Heerlijk weekend gehad!
I really enjoyed being back in South Limburg. The cottage is nice and spacious and looks very romantic. The bed is fine. The shower in the bathroom is a bit too small for tall people.
Ik vond het heel fijn om weer in Zuid Limburg te zijn. Het huisje is fijn ruim en ziet er heel romantisch uit. Bed ka prima. De douche in de badkamer wel wat te klein voor lange mensen
