Nature house in Vijlen (Vaals)

A spacious and fully equipped cottage (total ca 60m2) for 2-3 people. The cottage is independently located on a large plot with lots of greenery and a beautiful standard fruit orchard In the large orchard you will find a wonderful place to relax. Originally, the nature house is a "bakkes" (= Limburg for bakery) in half-timbered style. After a life as a bakery and stable, the building was extended with an upper floor and furnished as a vacation accommodation. The original bakery was built in 1850 and enlarged into a stable around 1930. The interior is built with multi-colored bricks and cozily decorated. On the ground floor is the open kitchen with dining area and sitting area with sofa and TV. On the second floor (accessible by stairs) is the spacious bedroom (with 1 double bed and 1 single bed), bathroom with shower and toilet.

The nature house is located on the outskirts of the rustic Viele (Vijlen) in the hamlet of Melleschet in a Stiltegebied. In and around the cottage you can completely relax. You can also walk and cycle from here in the Limburg Hill Country. For example, the cottage is located on the "route des vins". This walking route (approx. 11 km) takes you right through the beautiful hilly landscape along 2 impressive wine estates. In Melleschet is also the highest Dutch nature garden the Heebrig (1.1 ha). From Melleschet you can walk or cycle to the hamlets of Rott, Camerig, Cottessen, Mamelis and Harles or you can dive into the nature reserves (Vijlenerbos and Geuldal). In Vijlen there are a number of restaurants and a local store. Also on short distance are the cozy villages Mechelen, Epen and Gulpen. Nearby is Vaals with the famous Drielandenpunt, but also Aachen (9 km) and Maastricht (25 km) are around the corner, so to speak. We hope to welcome you soon in our nature house!
