Somewhere deep hidden in the picturesque Dikkelvenne, in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes, lies the house. Immersed in an oasis of greenery, it is the perfect accommodation to come to complete rest. This cozy cottage borders the banks of the Scheldt, after which it was named. Also, the Saint-Christian spring, with which local lemonade is still brewed to this day, flows into a small stream that ripples under and along the cottages. Sunken in nature, this is the ideal place where romance, peace and cosiness meet.The vacation home can accommodate 2 to a maximum of 10 people and consists of 2 units:: 2 to 4 persons (1 bedroom and 1 sofa bed):- 1 bedroom for 2 persons (1*2bed) - 1 sofa bed in the living room (1*2per). For the sports enthusiasts among us, who like to discover the rolling countryside by bicycle, electric bicycles (for a fee) can be made available.

The Flemish Ardennes, the Tuscany of Flanders, is THE region to explore by bicycle, on foot or even on horseback. Rich in various hiking trails, open plains, forests, nature reserves and spicy mountain bites, the region has not stolen the nickname "hiking paradise". The area is also brimming with stops to quench your thirst or enjoy a delicious meal. Those who want to discover as much of the region as possible can also rent a Vespa or a 2 HP. Something for everyone.Oudenaarde, also known as the center of the Tour of Flanders and other spring classics, is only a bow boat away from Dikkelvenne. The city is saturated with culture: from museums and heritage to breweries and annual festivities.Within walking distance of the house on the waterfront you arrive at the right bank of the Scheldt, which turns into the nature reserve De Kaaihoeve. Finally, the local restaurants and eateries are highly recommended, all within walking distance.
