On the side of the guest house you can sit outside under the heated porch for dinner or drinks. Unfortunately no pets are allowed.

3 km away is the Bargerveen, a beautiful and unique nature reserve where you can enjoy hiking and biking. Hundreds of bird species, dragonflies, and many day and night butterfly species. Shopping? Klazienaveen is 4 km away with a completely renovated shopping center and on Saturday a cozy market. Emmen is 10 km away and there is a large market every Friday. The German border is 5 km away with beautiful small towns like Meppen, Nordhorn and Lingen. The 4 star Wellness Hotel & Golf Resort Zuid-Drenthe is very close to the guesthouse. By the way, it seems that Golf Course Zuid- Drenthe has been rated as the best 9-hole golf course in the Netherlands. Visit the Wildlands Adventure Zoo animal park in Emmen or the Veenpark in Barger-Compascuum. In short, there is a lot to do in the vicinity of Barger-Oosterveen.
