Nature house in Cabeceiras de Basto

We give our stay a 9 because we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, the peace and quiet, and the special atmosphere of the house for three weeks. The location in the authentic village, the view of the valley and the mountains, the beautiful garden, and the pool made our stay extra special.

The house is spacious and has a lot of character thanks to its authentic and historic charm. The combination of peace and quiet, nature, and the village atmosphere allowed us to truly relax here. The friendly and helpful owners also contributed to a pleasant stay. Whenever we ran into any issues, they were quick to offer advice and assistance.

The combination of tranquility, nature, space, atmosphere, and the beautiful location ensured that we had a wonderful vacation and would definitely recommend this place.

Wij geven ons verblijf een 9, omdat we drie weken lang enorm hebben genoten van de prachtige omgeving, de rust en de bijzondere sfeer van het huis. De ligging in het authentieke dorpje, het uitzicht over het dal en de bergen, de mooie tuin en het zwembad maakten het verblijf extra bijzonder.

Het huis is ruim en heeft veel karakter door het authentieke en historische karakter. De combinatie van de rust, natuur en het dorpse karakter zorgde ervoor dat we ons hier echt konden ontspannen. Ook de vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaren droegen bij aan een prettig verblijf. Wanneer we ergens tegenaan liepen, werd er snel meegedacht en geholpen.

De combinatie van rust, natuur, ruimte, sfeer en de prachtige ligging heeft ervoor gezorgd dat wij een geweldige vakantie hebben gehad en deze plek zeker zouden aanbevelen.

As a family of five, along with our dog, we spent three wonderful weeks in this vacation home. What a beautiful place! The house is located in a quiet, authentic little village, with a fantastic view of the valley and the mountains. The sunsets were special every single evening. The house is spacious, cozy, and fully equipped. Its authentic and historic character gives it so much charm. The beautiful, blooming garden and the pool made our stay complete. The pool was cleaned regularly, and swimming and play equipment were provided. The outdoor area with the barbecue was also wonderful for dining together. Because of its authentic character, not everything is equally modern, but for us, that’s part of the charm. Whenever we ran into any issues, we were able to contact the owners easily and quickly. They were very helpful and came up with solutions right away. We enjoyed the incredible peace and quiet, the nature, the flora and fauna, and the villagers.

Wij hebben als gezin van vijf, samen met onze hond, drie heerlijke weken in dit vakantiehuis verbleven. Wat een prachtige plek! Het huis ligt in een rustig en authentiek dorpje, met een fantastisch uitzicht over het dal en de bergen. De zonsondergangen waren iedere avond weer bijzonder. Het huis is ruim, sfeervol en van alle gemakken voorzien. Het authentieke en historische karakter geeft het ontzettend veel charme. De mooie, bloeiende tuin en het zwembad maakten ons verblijf compleet. Het zwembad werd regelmatig schoongemaakt en er waren zwem- en speelattributen aanwezig. Ook de buitenplek met barbecue was heerlijk om samen te eten. Door het authentieke karakter is niet alles even modern, maar dat hoort voor ons juist bij de charme. Wanneer we ergens tegenaan liepen, konden we goed en snel contact opnemen met de eigenaren. Zij waren erg behulpzaam en kwamen direct met oplossingen. We hebben genoten van de enorme rust, de natuur, de flora en fauna en de dorpsbewoners.

In 1 word: sublime! Never before have we stayed in such a large, fully equipped and characteristic old vacation home. Beautiful views also from the balcony. And fine barbecue available. In real life the house is much larger and more beautiful than in the pictures. After a very warm welcome with a surprise basket full of goodies, we and the children enjoyed this place for a week. The saltwater pool (so no strong chlorine smell or dry skin) and the play basement with pool table (not a table tennis table as it says in the text, which appears to be a translation error) were a great success. The mattresses are firm, which I personally liked. Over an hour's drive from the beautiful city of Porto. And also closer to home there is much to see and experience. The hostess gives great tips for this. We did not have a dog with us but even that could have been good, with an outlet field opposite the cottage. I would definitely recommend it and do not rule out coming again.

In 1 woord: subliem! Nog nooit eerder verbleven we in zo'n groot, compleet toegerust en karakteristiek oud vakantiehuis. Prachtig uitzicht ook vanaf het balkon. En fijne barbecue beschikbaar. In het echt is het geheel veel groter en mooier huis dan op de foto's. Na een zeer hartelijk ontvangst met als verrassing een mand vol lekkers hebben wij samen met de kinderen een week lang genoten van deze plek. Het zoutwaterzwembad (geen sterke chloorlucht dus of droge huid) en de speelkelder met pooltafel (geen tafeltennistafel zoals in de tekst staat, dat blijkt een vertaalfout) waren een groot succes. De matrassen zijn stevig, wat ik zelf prettig vond.

Ruim een uur rijden van de prachtige stad Porto. En ook dichterbij huis is er veel te zien en beleven. De gastvrouw geeft mooie tips hiervoor.

We hadden zelf geen hond mee maar ook dat had goed gekund, met een uitlaatveldje tegenover het huisje.

Ik zou het zeker aanraden en sluit niet uit nog eens te komen.

Prachtig uitzicht vanaf het balkon. Volledige privacy. Rustige omgeving. Wakker worden met het geluid van vogels en koeienbellen in de verte.

Never before have we stayed in a cottage so well equipped. Everything was provided. I love to cook and there really was nothing missing to create deliciousness for my 7 person party. The game room is also fantastic. The house is very well maintained, very clean and large enough to get lost in. Furthermore, Teresa is a fantastic hostess who is very approachable and left an incredibly welcoming feeling. I could only recommend this house and would love to stay there again myself.

Nooit eerder verbleven wij in een huisje dat zo goed geëquipeerd was. Alles is voorzien. Ik hou ervan om te koken en er was echt niets dat ik miste om voor mijn 7 koppige gezelschap heerlijkheid te creëren. Ook de spelltjeskelder is fantastisch. Het huis wordt erg goed onderhouden, is erg proper en groot genoeg om in te verdwalen. Verder is Teresa een fantastische gastvrouw die zeer bereikbaar is en een ongelooflijk welkom gevoel achterliet. Ik zou dit huis enkel maar kunnen aanraden en zou er erg graag zelf ook nog eens een keertje terug verblijven.

The cottage is quietly located and offers to support the feeling of nature: whistling swallows, tinkling bells of the cows and croaking frogs. Delightful!

Het huisje is rustig gelegen en biedt ter ondersteuning van het natuurgevoel: fluitende zwaluwen, rinkelende bellen van de koeien en kwakende kikkers. Heerlijk!
