The wood stove keeps you warm and contributes to a cozy atmosphere. Sleep comfortably in a double bed with a good mattress. Use the stove and barbecue to prepare the most delicious meals. Cutlery and crockery as well as an electric kettle and perculator are provided. Thanks to the refrigerator, your food and drinks will stay nice and cool. Bed linen and towels are provided. Games, books, everything has been thought of. Electricity is available. Hot shower and toilet are within walking distance and as an extra service a small portable toilet is available at the Stargazer. Handy to bring is good footwear, waterproof is a plus. Unfortunately no dogs.

On the south side the forest borders a national nature reserve and it is surrounded by heath and grassland. The property has a beautiful lake of 1.5 hectares and of glacial origin. Even fishing is allowed here. The Mariahoeve is located in the middle of the Hondsrug. This geologically unique ridge formed in the ice ages and stretches from Emmen to the city of Groningen. The location is truly a must for nature lovers. You can enjoy cycling, hiking or horseback riding. Just 2 kilometers away you will find the Pieterpad; the most famous long-distance hiking trail in the Netherlands.
