When building these nature houses, we used biobased building materials as much as possible. Partial grass insulation and wool from our own sheep was used for the walls. The floors are made of recycled concrete with elephant grass. This saves 85% CO2 emissions. The exteriors are constructed of red cedar, a very sustainable type of wood, and the interior of Dutch poplar. Solar water heaters on the roof provide hot water and floor heating! Waste water is purified in a helophyte filter. Finally, all cabins have a compost toilet. In order to reach the huts with dry feet even when the weather is not so good, a path has been constructed with slatted floors from an old pigsty. In front of the haystack hut is your picnic table, there are children's puzzles, farm games, reading books and craft processing available. By appointment a tour of the farm and play in the sandbox!
