Nature house in Ballum

Very nice place with beautiful wide views! Peace, space and nature, enjoyed.

The house was fine for us! (H)honestly old and cozy. No luxury and we love that. Everything we needed was there (and more) The wood stove has more than snored and gave cozy warmth. We have had a wonderful week with many different natural phenomena: thick snow, storm, fog, rain, sleet and blue skies with sunshine! What a boon.We will definitely come back when we can bike in spring or fall.Our thanks for the hospitality enjoyed.

Het huis was voor ons prima! (H)eerlijk oud en sfeervol. Geen luxe en daar houden wij van.
Alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig (en meer) De houtkachel heeft meer dan gesnord en gaf gezellige warmte.
We hebben een prachtige week gehad met heel veel verschillende natuurverschijnselen: dik pak sneeuw, storm, mist, regen, ijzel en blauwe luchten met een zonnetje! Wat n bof.
We komen zeker terug als we kunnen fietsen in voor-of najaar.
Onze dank is groot voor de genoten gastvrijheid.

Very quiet, unobstructed location with fantastic views! Cottage has everything you need, without too much luxury.

Heel rustig, vrij gelegen met fantastisch uitzicht! Huisje heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, zonder al teveel luxe.

I pick a 7. The cottage is fine but it is not luxuriously or modernly furnished. We did not know exactly what to expect, but if it is clean and everything works, we think it is good. Even though it is somewhat dated in terms of furnishings and technology we found it to have a pleasant atmosphere and appearance. The home theater experience advertised is not there, with such a description you expect more. There is a beamer and you can watch film on the wall, and that's about it. That's a bit different from a bioscreen experience. Good enough for a cozy family evening, it's a very quiet place and you have a lot of privacy. It's not completely enclosed, a passerby can glimpse into the garden, but there's enough privacy to sunbathe or have dinner together in the garden.

Ik kies een 7. Het huisje is prima maar het is niet luxe of moderen ingericht. Wij wisten niet precies wat we moesten verwachten, maar als het schoon is en alles werkt vinden wij het al gauw goed. Ondanks dat het wat gedateerd is qua inrichting en techniek vonden wij het een prettige sfeer en uitstaling hebben. De thuisbiosscoopbeleving waarmee geadventeerd wordt is er niet, met een dergelijke beschrijving verwacht je meer. Er is een beamer en je kunt film kijken op de muur, en dat is het ongeveer. Dat is wat anders dan een biosscoopbeleving. Goed genoeg voor een gezellige gezinsavond.
Het is een heel rustige plek en je hebt veel privacy. Het is niet volledig afgesloten, een voorbijganger kan een blik in de tuin werpen, maar er is voldoende privacy om lekker te zonnen of om met z'n allen te eten in de tuin.

Wonderful peace and quiet in the area. Occasionally you can hear some agricultural traffic or cattle (sheep). But especially many birds, swallows and oystercatchers and many more species. Nice atmospheric villages in the area, especially Ballum and Hollum, are a short bike ride away. We also loved the beach at Ballum. Lots of space on the beach, also a nice place to swim. At night from the cottage overlooking the meadows and look towards Hollum and the lighthouse.

Heerlijke rust en ruimte in de omgeving. Af en toe hoor je wat landbouwverkeer of vee (schapen). Maar vooral veel vogels, zwaluwen en scholeksters en nog veel meer soorten.
Leuke sfeervolle dorpjes in de omgeving, met name Ballum en Hollum, liggen op een korte fietsafstand. Het strand bij Ballum vonden wij ook geweldig. Heel veel ruimte op het strand, ook een mooie plek om te zwemmen. 's Avonds vanuit het huisje uitzicht over de weilanden en kijk je richting Hollum en de vuurtoren.
