Nature house in Simmerath

Hammer is a small village with 133 inhabitants, completely surrounded by nature, in a cul-de-sac with hardly any traffic, and the building is a listed building. The oldest parts of the house were built around 1745. The famous hiking trail 'Eifelsteig', which leads from Aachen to Trier, is about 200 meters away from the house and there are various hiking trails signposted by the Eifelverein just a short walk from the house.the apartment is located directly on the main cycle path that leads from Monschau to the Rursee. This cycle path has hardly any differences in altitude and runs almost directly along the Rur. This cycle path is therefore well suited for cyclists who do not like to cycle uphill. This cycle path also leads to numerous other cycle paths, for example along the Rursee, and there are books and booklets with recommendations for cycle tours and hiking trails in the apartment

The house is located about 50 meters from the Rur, whose sounds you can hear at night, and about 50 meters from the house is the edge of the Eifel National Park. Hammer is located on the southeast side of the national park, the part where few visitors come. A true hiking and nature paradise.a few hundred meters from the house we have wild boar, deer, lynx, foxes. Polecats, martens and stoats have been spotted. Our property is a true butterfly paradise. Over 70 species of wild flowers form a habitat for many species of butterflies and insects, including several that are on the Red List. All around Hammer there is only forest. The few meadows are only used for organic farming.
