The family home has 4 bedrooms. There is a large living room with a dining area and a semi-open kitchen. The living area features a wood stove, and the dining area has one large table that seats 8 people. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a Nespresso machine, a combination microwave, a filter coffee maker, a 4-burner induction cooktop, an air fryer, and standard kitchenware. The property has two floors. On the ground floor, you’ll also find a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom (shower, sink, and toilet). In the hallway on the ground floor, there are two additional bathrooms (shower, sink, and toilet). On the First floor, there are three double bedrooms; two of them have an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and sink, while the third bedroom has only a sink in the room. In the summer, you can step right out onto the north-facing terrace; there are several other terraces on the property. The family home has a floor area of 178 m².
Nature and surroundings
The family home is located in Oosterend, right in the middle of the Wadden Sea island of Terschelling, but it is the last village before the rest of the island becomes a nature reserve. When you walk off the property, you’ll find yourself right in the dune area. The North Sea beach is 2 kilometers away, and the Wadden Sea is 300 meters from the accommodation. The Boschplaat European Nature Reserve is less than a kilometer away—this is truly a unique part of the Netherlands. The Dark Sky Park begins as soon as you step off the property; on a clear evening, if you look up, you can see the Milky Way. In the dune area, just a few hundred meters away, you’ll find the first cranberry fields—a tart berry that can be picked in October once the professional harvest has begun. The Wadden Sea is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; there’s a beautiful bike path along the dike that offers views of this unique nature reserve. Shopping streets are located in Midsland (8 km away) or on West Terschelling (13 km away); museums are in Formerum and on West Terschelling. A supermarket is 3 kilometers away, and a bus stop is 80 meters away.

Wij verbleven in het vakantiehuis De Boei bij residentie Dichtbijzee. Voordat wij ons verblijf boekten konden wij de slechte reviews die deze plek krijgt niet lezen. Wij kregen dit na boeken te horen van vrienden en familie die op het eiland wonen. Blijkbaar staan deze mensen bekend op het eiland om hun onvriendelijke en ongastvrije houding. Voorafgaand aan ons bezoek kregen we al een schoonmaak- en inventarislijst van 2 kantjes met hoe wij het achter dienden te laten. We werden heel kil ontvangen en direct gewezen op dat we 'te laat' waren. Je mag pas om 15:30 uur in het huisje en hebt tot 18:00 uur om de sleutel op te halen. Wij zijn nog nooit ergens zo onvriendelijk (vijandig) ontvangen. Toen wij daar iets van zeiden, waren wij zogenaamd 'oververmoeiende gasten'.... ? Het huisje zelf vonden wij het geld ook absoluut niet waard. Het rook er muf en de badkamer was een soort camper badkamertje van 1 bij 1. Elke keer als je erin stapte, dan ging alles heen en weer. Kortom wij kunnen ons helemaal vinden in de slechte reviews en komen hier nooit meer terug.
Van een natuurhuisje zou je mogen verwachten dat het in de natuur staat, maar dit huisje staat op een vakantiepark met meerdere huisjes in een dorp.
