Safely in an embrace of the foothills of the Noorder Dunes and the illustrious polder "the Botgat " is our Nature House located. In the dunes and right by the beach in the hamlet of Groote Keeten, a place on the North Sea coast where peace and nature experience is still commonplace every day. A wide and empty beach where minke terns would be jealous and where the dynamics of the elements still assert themselves. No mass tourism, but the peace and quiet and space we so often crave in our hectic existence.
Nature and surroundings
The Noorder Duinen with a still unique wheatear community lends itself to cycling to Den Helder and if you want to cross over to enjoy a day on the island of Texel. But a bike ride south to the village of Callantsoog through the beautiful adjacent nature areas in the polder De Sande is also possible of course. A visit to the Zwanenwater is a must, in short, a place to forget the treadmill of everyday life for a while. But it is also possible to stay at home and enjoy the immediate surroundings such as toad pool with flowery meadows.
