Nature house in Markelo

We had a fantastic stay. The cottage was absolutely spotless; there wasn’t a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. Eddi and Souleiman are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable. When we asked if a drying rack was available, they arranged it right away the next day. That says a lot about their hospitality and dedication.

During our stay, there was a “code red” heat warning. Fortunately, the cottage is equipped with air conditioning, which was very pleasant. We also understand that an air conditioner will soon be installed upstairs as well. That will further improve comfort on hot days.

One minor point to note is the upper floor. It has a sloped ceiling, so people who are about 1.80 meters or taller will need to duck their heads. The beds are also a bit less suitable for taller people. I’m taller than average myself, and I did notice that.

Wij hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad. Het huisje was werkelijk brandschoon; echt nergens was stof of vuil te vinden. Eddi en Souleiman zijn geweldige gastheren die er alles aan doen om het hun gasten naar de zin te maken. Toen wij vroegen of er een droogrek beschikbaar was, werd dit de volgende dag direct geregeld. Dat zegt veel over hun gastvrijheid en betrokkenheid.

Tijdens ons verblijf was het code rood vanwege de hitte. Gelukkig is het huisje voorzien van airconditioning, wat erg prettig was. We begrepen bovendien dat er binnenkort ook boven een airco wordt geplaatst. Dat zal het comfort tijdens warme dagen nog verder verbeteren.

Een klein aandachtspunt is de bovenverdieping. Deze heeft een schuin dak, waardoor mensen vanaf ongeveer 1,80 meter rekening moeten houden met bukken. Ook zijn de bedden wat minder geschikt voor langere personen. Zelf ben ik langer dan gemiddeld en merkte ik dat wel.

The nature house is located in a lovely, peaceful spot where you can truly relax. The garden is beautifully landscaped, with a lovely pond and plenty of greenery. There are plenty of options for sitting in both the sun and the shade. The hot tub and the outdoor shower with both hot and cold water make your stay complete. You’ll have plenty of privacy, allowing you to fully enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

Het natuurhuisje ligt op een heerlijke, rustige plek waar je echt kunt ontspannen. De tuin is prachtig aangelegd, met een mooie vijver en veel groen. Er zijn volop mogelijkheden om zowel in de zon als in de schaduw te zitten. De jacuzzi en de buitendouche met zowel warm als koud water maken het verblijf helemaal af. Je hebt veel privacy, waardoor je optimaal van de rust en de natuur kunt genieten.

Unfortunately, we were there during the week when a Code Red heat warning was in effect. It was very hot in Markelo—too hot to do anything.

Prachtige omgeving.
Helaas waren wij er in de week met code rood. Het was erg heet in Markelo, te heet, om dingen te ondernemen.

A beautiful, cozy, charming, and clean cottage equipped with every comfort. A gorgeous garden with several terraces. A pond with fish that you were allowed to feed.
The owners gave us a very warm welcome, and we could always call them if we had any questions.

Mooi, gezellig, sfeervol en schoon huisje van alle comfort voorzien. Prachtige tuin met verschillende terrassen. Vijver met vissen, die je mocht voeren.
We werden erg gastvrij door de verhuurders ontvangen, we konden ze altijd bellen, mocht je vragen hebben.

Leider zu viel Verkehrslärm

A very nice, well-maintained house set in a beautiful garden next to a pond where you can feed the fish right from the terrace.
The hosts are always available to answer any questions and are very helpful. We simply mentioned that a parasol would be useful on the kitchen side, and two days later, one was set up.
A gas grill is also available for barbecue enthusiasts.


Unfortunately, there is one significant drawback:
Anyone seeking the absolute peace and quiet one would expect from a secluded Nature house in the countryside will be disappointed here, as the highway—about 700 meters away—can be clearly heard depending on the wind direction.
The paved road, on which cars or farm machinery occasionally pass, is separated from the property by an earthen embankment and a hedge, but is only 20 meters away from the terrace and the house; thus, traffic noise is very clearly audible, even in the bedroom with the windows closed.

Ein sehr schönes gepflegtes Haus in einem wunderbarem Garten und an einem Teich wo man die Fische direkt von der Terrasse aus füttern kann.
Die Vermieter sind für alle Fragen jederzeit ansprechbar ,und hilfsbereit.Wir hatten nur angemerkt daß an der Küchenseite ein Sonnenschirm nützlich währe und zwei Tage später wurde ein Schirm aufgestellt.
Für Grillfans steht auch ein Gasgrill zur verfügung


Leider gibt es aber einen erheblichen Nachteil:
Wer absolute Ruhe sucht die man einem Naturhäuschen in Alleinlage erwartet wird hier entäuscht,da die Autobahn ,in ca. 700m Entfernung , je nach Windrichtung deutlich zu hören ist.
Auch die gepflasterte Straße ,auf der ab und zu ein Auto oder Landmaschinen fahren , ist durch einen Erdwall und einer Hecke vom Grundstück getrennt ,aber nur 20 m von der Terrasse und vom Haus entfernt, somit sind Verkehrsgeräusche sehr deutlich zu hören ,selbst im Schlafzimmer bei geschlossenen Fenstern
