Nature house in Vijlen

Our simple cottage is an ancient half-timbered house from 1560, located in Cottessen. The charm of authenticity and yet with the time with underfloor heating and ability to stoke the fireplace. (Wood available). Very suitable for 2 families, possibly aunt or grandmother and the children (4 bedrooms) or group of friends to 8 (+3) people with some expansion if you take the cabin there. (E.g. for visiting with a hiker's hut for 2 persons). Optional camping with a small tent is sometimes possible. The farm complex of 7 ha, now in natural management with standard orchards, hedges, groves, pools and hedgerows. A huge wealth of biodiversity ( hazel mouse, yellow-bellied toad, bees, gray plover, badgers reetjes and much more. The nature house is part of an open carre farm with beautiful terrace and is no longer functional as a farm. But sheep are there.

The cottage is located in the Geul Valley in hamlet Cottessen near source village Epen ( 2.5 km) and mountain village Vijlen. 100 meters away is the large Vijlenerbos which extends beyond the Drielandenbos. From the terrace you have a huge distant view of the Geul valley and the Ardennes peaks 30 km away. Huize ten Bosch has an altitude of 188 m above sea level and overlooks the Geul Valley, its own standard orchards all around and the Vijlen woods. Our location is in Cottessen and our 7 ha site offers a free feeling amidst nature and an unspoiled cultural landscape. In winter the most chance of snow in the Netherlands, in spring lush greenery and blossoms, in summer cool in the house and in the shade of the trees, in autumn the most fantastic colors. We would love to welcome you. Hiking and mountain biking is nowhere more beautiful in the Netherlands. Of course you can also go to Maastricht, Aachen and Valkenburg.
