This nature house has 4 garden doors to the terrace, facing southeast. There is an awning, for cooling on hot days. You can use the hammock or enjoy nature and silence in the garden chairs. The pond is located a few meters from the cottage and is freely accessible. The house has a gas fireplace for a cozy evening and to warm up after a walk. There is high-speed internet and TV with Chromecast. Through the kitchen window you have a view of the old beech trees behind the house where you can spot the squirrel, goldcrest or even the tawny owl. The kitchen is equipped with oven/microwave, refrigerator, nespresso and smoothie maker. The upstairs bathroom has a shower stall and bathtub. The master bedroom with the double bed has a view of the fen. The two back rooms have a single bed overlooking the beech trees. In the spring you can hear the tawny owl at night and be slowly awakened at dawn by the many birds.
Nature and surroundings
The park is characterized by the fen in the middle of the park surrounded by 16 cottages set in greenery. There are many beautiful bird species to spot such as the apple finch, black and green woodpecker, goldfinch, tree falcon and the little grebe in the fen. There is a squirrel that has its regular route past the cottage and with luck you will come face to face with a deer or even a badger. The surroundings are characterized by coniferous and mixed deciduous forest, heathland and arable land. Further on is the Groote diep, which begins in the nature and hiking area the Slokkert in Veenhuizen and flows through to the Onlanden in Peize. This is where the otter and the bald eagle have found their home. Around America are many walking and cycling paths towards old and cozy villages such as Norg, Roden and Bakkeveen. Within walking distance is Ronostrand, a recreational lake with catering facilities. At the Fjordenpaard you can make a trip by horse or covered wagon over the sandy plains and through the woods in the Zuursche Duinen.
