Nature house in Nutter

The nature house is a simple little house located within a peaceful park (Bij de Bronnen). The house stands completely on its own: it overlooks a rolling meadow and borders directly on Het Springendal, a nature reserve you can walk right into from our house (see the photos). We love coming here ourselves and enjoy seeing it occupied from time to time. On the porch, you can sit outside dry and sheltered all year round. Inside, too, you’re comfortably surrounded by greenery: the living area has windows (double-glazed) on three sides and overlooks the meadow and our spacious wooded garden. Otherwise, it’s a basic cottage with everything you need, such as central heating, kitchenware, Wi-Fi/smart TV (NPO Plus with NPO 1, 2, 3, and all kinds of series, documentaries, and movies), a nice shower, and good mattresses. PLEASE NOTE *Bring your own bed linens and towels!

The adjacent Springendal is also known as “the Garden” of the Netherlands, a nature reserve featuring picturesque seepage ponds, small waterfalls, and narrow streams in the heart of the forest. The area is home to unique plants such as juniper bushes, floating water plantain, and goldenrod, as well as animals like the kingfisher, the yellow wagtail, and the brook lamprey. And of course, there are also various species of birds of prey, woodpeckers, owls, roe deer, rabbits, and squirrels, which can also be seen regularly around the house. Together with the Mosbeek Valley (around Vasse), it forms a large hilly area on the Ootmarsum moraine, which is perfect for long walks and bike rides. Ootmarsum, the oldest town in Twente, is just 2.5 kilometers away. A lively town with a historic city center, sights, and many galleries that have earned Ootmarsum the reputation of “Art City of the East.” Oldenzaal and the German border are also nearby—including Bad Bentheim, just a short drive away
