This fantastic little red house has stood on the beach at IJmuiden for years in the summer. Now it gets a second life in the polder. With taste, this nature house has been completely refurbished and furnished with circular materials. In addition to a living room with beautiful views, this cottage has a unique 4-person box bed! A kitchen with gas stove, refrigerator and fine sharp knife set. Furthermore, everything you need to prepare a delicious meal from the fresh organic vegetables that come from the land here. Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and percolator are all provided. Private shower and toilet in your cottage. On your private terrace you can enjoy a coffee with the rising sun or sit in the evening around your own campfire roasting marshmallows.
Nature and surroundings
Our cottages are in the North Holland polder, where the Oer-IJ used to be. Now a place with meadow views, many birds (kestrels, buzzards, the short-eared owl) and the occasional blue (KLM) bird flying overhead. From the campsite you can make beautiful bike trips over dikes and through small villages. The beach at Wijk aan zee is also within cycling distance. On Estate Rorik you will find besides a mini-camping also an organic farm, organic vineyard, apple and pear orchard. We use as many used materials as possible (circular) to build our cottages. You are welcome to help in the garden or vineyard.The estate is still under construction. A lot has already been done, there is still a lot to do. The good atmosphere is already there, but do not expect raked paths ;-). You are more than welcome to taste this atmosphere and pioneer with us in the polder!

Nature, peace & environment:The Little Red House is simple, allowing you to unwind and have few distractions. Nice details like mini flashlights and games and books in the closet. With the little kitchen you can get by just fine for simple meals. The view is sweeping. Also nice to have breakfast outside, the sun shines on the terrace in the morning. We did not know in advance that sheets and towels were provided, as the site stated that you must bring your own linen. A more comprehensive inventory list would also be helpful. The property is great. All the sustainable projects and the creative use of circular stuff, very inspiring! There is also a lot of contact and you quickly have fun conversations with the people working on all kinds of projects there. You get to Wijk aan Zee in fifteen minutes. A lot of planes come over, but the (noise) didn't bother us. On the grounds you can make campfires, help with projects, feed chickens. There are also two restaurants available.
Het Rode huisje is eenvoudig, waardoor je lekker tot rust komt en weinig afgeleid wordt. Leuke details zoals mini zaklampjes en spelletjes en boeken in de kast. Met het keukentje kun je je voor eenvoudige maaltijd prima redden. Het uitzicht is wijds. Ook fijn om buiten te ontbijten, de zon schijnt in de ochtend op het terras. We wisten van tevoren niet dat er lakens en handdoeken aanwezig waren, daar op de site vermeld stond dat je eigen linnengoed moet meebrengen. Een wat uitgebreidere inventarislijst zou ook handig zijn. Het landgoed is geweldig. Alle duurzame projecten en het creatief omgaan met circulaire spullen, heel inspirerend! Ook is er veel aanspraak en heb je snel leuke gesprekken met de mensen die er aan allerlei projecten werken. Je bent met een kwartiertje bij Wijk aan Zee. Er komen veel vliegtuigen over, maar het (geluid) heeft ons niet gestoord. Op het terrein kan je kampvuurtje maken, helpen met projecten, kippen voeren. Ook zijn er twee restaurants aanwezig.

Nature, peace & environment:Landgoed Rorik is prachtig. De groene omgeving, de boomgaard, de boerderijen. En tegelijkertijd zit het dichtbij stedelijk gebied. Een leuke combinatie.
