Nature house in Särnaheden

Old log cabin with two bedrooms on the second floor, one with four single beds suitable for children and one bedroom with a double bed. Lower floor is just one large room with a stove for heating the cabin. Table with wooden benches and space for at least seven people. Also a sofa that can be used as an extra bed for two people. There is also the possibility to cook on gas (Muurikka summer kitchen). Outside there is a fireplace with roof where we usually barbecue and spend the evenings by the fire. Sauna is located by the stream that crosses the area. We also get our drinking and cooking water from there. Sun from the riverbank all day long. Covered terrace in front of the cabin with table and benches for 8 people. Great to sit outside in case of rainy days.

Wilderness cabin with no neighbours and for people who appreciate privacy in nature. Cabin is located by the river Österdalälven in the north of Dalecarlia near the small village of Särnaheden but on the other side of the river. This is a reindeer area, so chances are you'll see a lot of them. You get there by car but the road is not very good. 20 kilometers to the villages of Särna and Idre. About 50 kilometers to the Norwegian border and lots of nature to discover in the area. Sweden's highest waterfall is about 50 kilometers from the cabin. Great hiking opportunities. There is a fantastic perch fishing lake nearby in the woods. It is also possible to use our small fishing boat with 2hp engine or a fishing kayak. This wilderness cabin is a nature lover's paradise and a bit of an adventure for "back to basics" seeking families. No electricity and the toilet is an old fashioned cottage in the corner of the country. Very nice sandy beach by river near the cabin.
