Our modernized cabin in the woods is a wonderful place for anyone who loves peace and nature. From the living room, you can step right out onto the partially covered patio. Even if it rains, you can still sit comfortably in the dry, enjoy a meal, and the BBQ goes on as planned! This nature house is a wonderful place to relax both indoors and outdoors, and you’ll feel connected to the forest. From the bungalow, you can set out on a lovely walk straight into the woods, where you can spot wildlife at dusk. Our bungalow accommodates up to 4 people and features 3 bedrooms, each sleeping 2. The upstairs bedroom is accessible via a steep staircase and has limited headroom. The modern and spacious kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher. Pillows and (single) comforters are provided; please bring your own bed and bath linens. You can use a high-quality women’s and men’s bicycle free of charge, and a Weber electric BBQ is also available.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the heart of the Vecht Valley, in a large forest between Ommen and Hardenberg. From the house, you have direct access to the Vecht Valley’s extensive network of hiking and biking trails. The Vecht River is always nearby and truly beautiful. At the cottage, you can enjoy the silence, the rustling of the trees, and lots—and I mean lots—of birds, squirrels, rabbits, hares, and, of course, the deer in the woods. The kids can play to their hearts’ content in the woods, and there’s a newly built playground. A 10-minute walk away is the camp store at the neighboring De Kleine Wolf campground (April through October). Perfect for warm rolls at breakfast! A visit to one of the Hanseatic cities—Zwolle, Deventer, Doesburg, or Zutphen—is also well worth it, and Ommen is a great place to enjoy a nice meal out. The cottage isn’t accessible by public transportation, so a car is definitely handy. There’s also a charging station for electric vehicles at the bungalow. Ommen is about a 20-minute bike ride or an 8-minute drive away.

Unfortunately, the nature house was very damp, the shower was small, and everything got wet.
When we got home, our clothes smelled of dampness—that’s a downside.
The covered patio was really nice, though, and we made good use of it.

The peace and quiet and the surroundings were really pleasant! You feel like you’re right in the middle of the forest, and there are nice views from various spots. That way, we could still sit outside, eat, and enjoy the birds and everything else. The beds were comfortable, too. And we thought having access to the bikes was an extra bonus. A minor drawback, though, was the dampness caused by all the rain and the small bathroom. This resulted in a musty smell that really soaked into my clothes and our own pillows (which we like to bring along). This happened despite using the dehumidifier. You really notice the smell when you get home. You just want to throw everything in the wash. But we had a wonderful time!

De geur ruik je met name bij thuis komst. Alles wil je dan de was in. Maar we hebben enorm genoten!
