Grand and Enjoyable! Our nature house is a rural detached Cottage. The price is for 2 persons, each additional person costs € 20.00 p.p.p.n. There is a covered terrace where you can enjoy our garden. It is now a mature garden of 7600 m2 landscaped under the architecture of Arend Jan van der Horst. In the spring you can see the storks hovering and hear them clatter. Upstairs in the cottage is 1 bedroom with a 2-person electric bed. Next to it is an open space, where there are 2 more single beds. The living room has patio doors to the terrace. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, kettle, Senseo and filter coffee maker. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. A hair dryer is available. On the terrace there is a chess, checkers table, there is a large trampoline, a badminton set and the Swedish kubb game. Smoking and pets are not allowed. Minimum stay is 2 nights.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located just outside the village of Rijswijk and adjacent to the Almbos, where you can take a nice walk. Rijswijk is a village in the municipality of Altena. This Municipality is surrounded by the major rivers and offers plenty of opportunities for beautiful hiking and cycling. National Park De Biesbosch is a short distance away. A visit from the fortified town of Woudrichem via the foot ferry to Slot Loevestein is also an experience. A visit to the Efteling or the National Park Loonse and Drunense Dunes is certainly a possibility. But beware by the nature experience from the cottage in our garden, you really do not want to go out anymore and you will completely relax and go back home completely zen. The cottage is not very practical layout. Only 1 lockable bedroom, where you can actually only get in and out of bed on 1 side because of the sloping ceiling. No horten for the skylights so upon arrival already had to chase out a huge wasp. The other "bedroom" is a landing/rubbish loft where you also walk through to get to the first bedroom. Bathroom is downstairs, so down the stairs at night to pee. Bathroom itself was downright filthy. One and all lime and mold in the shower. Rest of house is also messy and not very fresh. Beautiful covered terrace outside where all the furniture is also dirty, so does not really invite to sit. All in all not recommended as far as we are concerned
Het huisje is niet heel praktisch ingedeeld. Slechts 1 afsluitbare slaapkamer, waarbij je eigenlijk ook maar aan 1 kant in en uit bed kan stappen vanwege het schuine plafond. Geen horten voor de dakramen dus bij aankomst al een enorme wesp naar buiten moeten jagen. De andere"slaapkamer" is een overloop/rommelzolder waar je dus ook doorheen loopt om bij de eerste slaapkamer te komen. Badkamer is beneden, dus s nachts de trap af om te plassen. Badkamer zelf was ronduit smerig. Een en al kalk en schimmel in de douche. Ook de rest van huis is rommelig en niet heel fris. Prachtig overdekt terras buiten waar al het meubilair ook vies is, dus nodigt niet echt uit om te gaan zitten. Al met al geen aanrader wat ons betreft
