The nature house is unique and separate from the campsite at the back of our property! The cottage can only be accessed via a hiking trail past the horses, for a truly Back-to-Basic experience! It is furnished with 2 single beds, solar lights, fire pit with grill grate, cast iron pans and kettle, percolator, cutlery and utensils, plates, cups, kettle, percolator (tea and coffee), lighters and wood. There is a propane gas burner to make a quick coffee or heat up a soup. Next to the cottage is a (dry) toilet and there is a zinc bathtub under which a fire can be stoked! It is also possible to shower under the outside shower (with hot water). Laze in the hammock and listen to the birds, or unwind in the plaggenhut! With us it's all about being outside, it's all part of it. Animals, mud, fresh air and a fire are part of the experience. Not glamping but an outdoor experience!
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is very rural next to the woods of the Oostermaet estate with many hiking, cycling and horseback riding routes. From the campsite you can walk, cycle or drive straight into the woods. Nearby is Deventer Koekstad (located on the river IJssel) with its historic center, rich in beautiful historic buildings that you can also admire via a city walk. National Park the Sallandse Heuvelrug is 6.5 km away where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. In the midst of this landscape are several restaurants. A visit to a nature museum or the Canadian cemetery is also possible. Okkenbroek is a nice central point if you want to walk the Marskramerpad or the pieter pad. Superleuk!
What a lovely and cute little cottage!!
So nicely laid out. Truly a private little spot with a view of pastures full of horses and cows. Plenty of shady spots when it’s warm and sunny.
We have a busy family life with four teenagers at home, so we really came here for some peace and quiet. And we found it.
Cooking over the fire was a treat. Lying in the hammock reading. Taking a relaxing bath or just napping in bed with a view of the pasture.
Stargazing at night. So beautiful.

Zo fijn opgezet. Echt een eigen plekje met uitzicht op weiland met paarden en koeien. Genoeg schaduwplekjes als het warm en zonnig is.
We hebben een druk gezinsleven met 4 pubers in huis dus we kwamen echt voor rust. Dat is gelukt.
Lekker koken op het vuur. Liggen lezen in de hangmat. Even lekker in bad of gewoon even op bed een dutje met uitzicht op het weiland.
Snachts sterren kijken. Zo mooi.
