This nature house is located near the charming villages of Oude Willem, Diever, Vledder, Dwingeloo, Havelte, Appelscha, Aekingerzand, and Frederiksoord. It is situated in the heart of the Drents Friese Wold National Park. Drenthe at its best. A unique spot for horseback riding, mountain biking, cycling, hiking, and nature and animal lovers (great for birdwatching or photography). The Fochteloërveen, Dwingelderveld, and Weerribben National Parks are nearby. The Dwingelderveld boardwalk and other trails are just a stone’s throw away (the Drents-Friese Wold Hiking Trail, the Beek en Bos Forest Ranger Trail, hiking along the Dwingelderveld, the “Wet Noses” Route, the fourth stage of the Pieterpad, the Oudemolense Diep Forest Ranger Trail, the Westerbork–Zwiggelte Route, and the Shakespeare Route). There are also beautiful bike paths, nature trails, and horse trails. You can go swimming and enjoy the local culture (for example, the Drents Museum, the De Proefkolonie Museum, the Fake Art Museum, and the Shell Museum).
