Nature house in Giethoorn

When you cross the water with a small bridge from the street side, you walk along a boardwalk between the trees and reeds to arrive at a real oasis among the reed beds. One thing is immediately clear: here you are going to fully enjoy a wonderful vacation in your own country! There is only one cottage nearby and it is managed by the same manager. In the cottage there is a cozy gas fireplace. The open kitchen is equipped with many conveniences. The living room is tastefully decorated so you can fully enjoy the view. The garden invites you to play and rest in the lounge sofa. The cottage is suitable for up to 4 adults and 2 older children with swimming certificate; the cottage is surrounded by water! And the outside stairs are not safe for small children. In the winter period we offer a Dutch Tub (at extra cost) at this cottage. Do you choose this? Then my caretaker will make sure it is filled and ready with 6 bags of wood to fire.

The nature house is in a truly unique location right on the Bovenwijde in the National Park the Weerribben-Wieden in the quiet part of Giethoorn. In the morning you will be awakened by hundreds of birds who all want to have their say. With a little luck you will see the deer in the field; a kingfisher flies by and you will hear the humming sound of the bittern. In the winter of 2021, otters even came to play in front of the cottage; an unforgettable experience! In addition, you are spied by buzzards and storks, geese and herons fly past you. Truly enjoy! The village of Giethoorn is the "Venice of the North". The typical bridges, the thatched farmhouses built on islands with well-tended gardens determine the village image. Boat trips, cycling and walking tours, visit museum, gallery or store, National Park visitor centers; the possibilities are endless.
