Nature and surroundings

The park is located in the middle of the Drents-Friesewold. From the park you can walk on the heath of the Doldersummerveld. Pictures of this heathland can be seen in our photo series. Besides the many cycling and hiking trails in the area there is a visitors center of the state forestry with many activities for all ages. On hot days you can swim in the Aekingermeer which is a 20 minute bike ride away. In Appelscha there is a very nice climbing forest. In addition, beautiful villages like Diever, Dwingeloo and Vledder are worth visiting. With dolmens, sheep pens and sand drifts, the area is beautiful to mention. You can also visit former camp Westerbork. And also open-air museum Orvelte and the zoo in Emmen are less than an hour away. You will not be bored in this area.

    It's a shame the owner isn't responding

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

The cottage was clean until you sat on the couch in the evening and saw Mr. Mouse happily running around the living room. In the morning, he was at it again—it really wasn't funny. We went straight home on Saturday morning and tried to call and text the owner, but he didn't respond. That's too bad.

A small tip for future guests: the lock of the door sometimes worked a bit stiff, so that might be looked at. Also good to know is that the stairs up are quite narrow and steep. For young children, older people or people who are less agile it is wise to be extra careful with this. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the quiet surroundings.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

We had a very pleasant stay in this nature house. The surroundings are beautiful and wonderfully quiet, allowing you to really escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Waking up with nature around you and the silence of the environment was really enjoyable for us.The cottage is simple and fits well with the idea of staying in the middle of nature. Everything needed for a comfortable stay is there and it was neat and clean. Just the simple and relaxed atmosphere makes it a nice place to unwind. For people who want to enjoy nature, tranquility and a casual stay, this is definitely recommended. We look back on our stay with pleasure.
